There’s very few things that bother me in life, but the few that do creep me out to no end. One is seeing grown men who dress like babies. Two is this freakin guy right here.

Coding: Qt 4.0 Development

So this was actually one of my new years resolutions from last year. Just getting around to it now. I’m working my way through the Qt Tutorial. I used to work with FLTK and I’d like to see how Qt compares. Eventually I’ll post a new app under the Projects page.

Has anyone else worked with both? Opinions?

Dance: All-you-can-dance for January

So, I hate Christmas presents. The idea of giving someone a gift just because you are “supposed to” on a certain day of the year just doesn’t jive with me. Not to mention that the last thing I need is more crap to stuff in my NYC apartment. Every year I tell my parents not to buy me anything; if they absolutely *have* to buy something, at least make it for some kind of fun activity… something I can enjoy doing and keep the memories of forever.

Along those lines, they got me a pass for a nearby dance studio. I love to go out dancing and now I can take all the cheesy classes I’ve ever wanted to. Salsa, tango, swing, rumba, ballroom….move outta the way!

Knitting: My first hat project

My Ravelry Notebook

It’s rated as a “beginner” project in Hip Knit Hats so we’ll see… I’ve heard hats make quick and easy projects but I’m skeptical. With some help from my friends over at the Park Slope Knitting Circle I’ll make my way through it.

If you haven’t checked out the PSKC yet, I highly recommend it. The people are always really friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They usually meet every Thursday night at a cafe, though lately they’ve been switching it up to Fri or Sat nights. These girls (and guys!) taught me how to knit and saved me from taking some $150 class in Manhattan.

When I was searching for yarn this time around, I noticed several of my fave yarn stores went under recently… NY Knits and The Point were gone. 2009 must have been a rough year…thankfully Purl Soho is still living.

Re-launch!

So I’ve completely overhauled the layout and I’m making another shot at this in ‘09.  The “blog” will continue to focus on food topics, but now there’s an added Lifestream for more info about me. The main webpage for complexconjugate.com has been reworked too to reflect a more cohesive set of pages – a link to here, my sideprojects, resume/bio, contact info, etc…

I’ll be updating the blog roll later tonight!
